Dearest Friends,
This has been a wonderful holiday season. Shirley and I are so grateful for your prayers,
cards and notes of encouragement, and the great out-pouring of love from our supporters.
Although I was in at work almost everyday
of the holiday season (I learned in the Navy that, even in port, somebody’s got to have the watch!), we still had a grand time with our kids, our son-in-law to be, and family friends.
We also got to see God bless the Tyndale
community in many ways. Here are some wonderful items for praise:
1. We received official word from the European
Evangelical Accrediting Association that not only our MDiv program (the degree for those entering ministry), but also our
new Masters of Evangelical Theology (a degree for those returning from ministry for further training) had been accepted for
full accreditation. The former certification represents the end of nearly two decades of work by Tyndale, and the latter,
the culmination of the efforts of the last 18 months since we have been with TTS.
2. We received all permits to start building
the new dormitory on 3 February.
3. Loving friends made major contributions
to the capital and operating funds for the school.
4. Students from Africa, Myanmar,
Holland, India and the Ukraine
have been accepted to begin studies next summer.
5. A German missionary agency has sent
one of their team members to join our staff team at Tyndale.
God is good!
Please keep in prayer in the next weeks
for the following:
1. Pray that I can work successfully with
the contractors to keep the dormitory construction on schedule. We need to be ready for the fall semester on 1 September 2006. Also, I head up a team of people deciding on the new dining facilities/catering/kitchen
equipment, which must also be ready for September 2006. The decisions on these items must be made in the next two weeks.
2. Pray for me as I preach and minister
in the city center. Exciting plans for growth and evangelism are underway. Ask God to give me wisdom as part of a team of
ministry overseers.
3. Please pray for me as I prepare to teach
classes for the Spring semester.
4. Pray for Shirley as she will be in a Middle Eastern country helping with a school there. Pray God’s protection as she travels
and sustained health, especially protection from "bird flu."
She will be gone end-January and into February.
5. Pray for Evie as she continues her student
teaching this week. Her first experience last week was a “bit of a zoo” at a school with many of the Katrina refugees.
God is at work, so are we, and so are you.
We are grateful for your partnership!
We send our love,
Henry
